It looks much like this one
My girlfriend is at work and I have her car for a few hours. Will post a comprehensive Oppo review later today. What do y’all wanna know about the most fun compact sedan on the market?

I want to know if a girlfriend’s car faster than a rental car.

“the most fun compact sedan on the market”
I hope that’s in quotes. I had one as a rental for two days once and was not impressed.

2.0 or 2.5?
Road noise? Wind noise?

no, I think the Elantra Sedan with the top trim engine and a 6 speed is better. I test drove one after the Jalopnik review. Not bad for an economy car.

Do you have a trim with alloys or with those plastic-covered steelies?
What would you do in that car that you’d never tell her about?

I just want to hear your honest take - especially if you have experience with any of the competitors. I’ve driven the 2.0-Auto as well as several of the cars it competes against and honestly I don’t get all the love for the 3. But I am definitely interested in hearing a differing viewpoint.

This is pretty much how I feel. Perhaps different motor/transmission choices help. Of the competitors that I’ve driven I’d say the Jetta 1.4T and Impreza are more fun to drive, the Corolla, Cruze (previous generation) and Focus are about the same as the 3, and the Sentra is worse - but the Sentra is pretty much the most throw-in-the-towel new car for sale in America right now.

My complaints were more with the way it felt to drive. The steering didn’t feel great and the handling was nothing remarkable. I haven’t driven a Cruze, but I have liked both the Malibu and the Impala rentals I’ve had, so I’m going to assume I would like that as well.
I will agree the sentra is trash. I really don’t understand why people buy Nissans at all.

Is the infotainment the best or the worst you have ever encountered? I have my opinions

I rented a third gen and I was not impressed with the interior nor was I impressed with the handling. My wife’s first gen is better on both these counts, even though it’s down on power (although it’s slightly down in weight as well), which makes it distinctly more fun to drive.
I believe Toyota is sucking their soul out like they did to Subaru.

That must be why they’re comparing their cars to Toyota now and not BMW. I know the newer BMWs get a lot of hate, but they’re still decent to drive.

Did the rust start already?
If not it’s not a real Mazda

Quotes are deserved. I’m going by mainstream reviews I’ve read, from MotorTrend and the like. Will see how it actually stacks up.

She wouldn’t let me autocross it this weekend :(
Can neither confirm nor deny at this time. Will collect further data and post my findings in the review later today.

I’ve got experience with some cars that I’d consider competitors. Not direct competitors, but cars that I’d call “compelling alternatives.”
I’ll try to make the review pretty comprehensive. Any specifics you want? i.e. powertrain, handling, etc.?

The steelies. Really needs the 18" alloys to look better.
She reads Oppo too, so this is all pretty risky for me to answer the second question here. That said, I’d sign up for autocross and see how it really handles. I’d make some reversible modifications for the event, will explain in the full review...

It’s the 2.0 auto. I’ll have some choice words for the powertrain in my review.
Road/wind noise seem okay in the city, I’ll find some time for highway driving for a full NVH assessment too.

Haven’t had much time to mess with it yet, I’ll give it a try. The bluetooth is competent but that’s the only thing I’ve used so far.

That’s it - from all the things I had heard I expected it to feel like the 2nd coming of the 6th generation Civic or something. I didn’t hate it, but it just wasn’t that different the rest of the class.
This is why people buy Nissans:
They don’t sell for anywhere near sticker and at that price start to look look attractive compared to Honda/Toyota to someone who just wants an appliance.

Well let us know what combo the powertrain is and how responsive the motor and transmission are. Personally, I’m most interested in your take on ride/handling/steering feel - but others here that haven’t been in the current 3 may be more curious about interior features/comfort etc.

How can you review it in a couple hours? You won’t have time to detail everything. For instance: How is it on a camping trip? How much noise does it make at 105mph? How many bags of potatoes fit inside? Does your grandmother like it? How long does it float in a swimming pool? These need answers. You don’t have the time.
